Top 10 Most powerful Weapons of Marvel Comics

We all know Marvel Comics is full of powerful characters capable of destroying planets or even rewriting reality. But what about weapons. Here is our list of ten most powerful weapons of Marvel history.

10) Tactigon

Kicking off the list is Tactigon. Tactigon is a weapon that 1^st appeared in Avengers the Initiative #1 in June 2007. In short Tectagon is an extra-terrestrial object/weapon that bonds to the arm of its host. The host can then form any weapon that he/she imagines. So, it’s very similar to The Green Lantern ring from the DC Universe. It can even scan its opponent and match its power to counteract the attack perfectly. It’s so powerful that it’s been classified as an omega level weapon (and here we thought that term is only used for Mutants).

9) The Crimson Gem of Cyttorak

It made it’s debut in X-Men #12 in July 1965. The crimson Gem of Cyttorak is a jewel of great power created by the mystical entity Cyttorak (The Lord of the Crimson Cosmos), he is an immensely powerful being who is the supplier of power to its avatar The Unstoppable Juggernaut.  This mystical artifact is also capable of teleportation, creating mystical constructs and energy blast. It’s said that if used to it’s full potential the Gem can give its avatar enough power to control the fabric of the Universe.

8) Mjolnir

Mjolnir is one of the most popular weapons in all of comics. Thor’s mighty hammer made its debut in Journey into Mystery 83 in August 1962. Forged in the Heart of a dying star, Mjolnir can’t be used by just anyone but only those who are deemed worthy. The Hammer can travel way faster than the speed of light and has the ability to control lightning and thunder. It also possesses a fraction of the Odin Force, which is more powerful than the power cosmic given to Heralds of Galactus. It has many other abilities like energy absorption and projection, dimensional transportation, creation of force fields and tracking of any being or object anywhere in time or space.

7) The Destroyer Armor

The Destroyer Armor 1^st appeared in Journey to the Mystery #118 in July 1965. Putting it simple, the destroyer armor is meant to battle the celestials. It is seemingly indestructible thanks to the enchantment by Odin himself. If you imagine Mjolnir as a walking battle armor, this is what you would get. The Destroyer shown in Thor movie was nothing like the comics. In comics Destroyer is powered by Odin Force and the rest of the Asgardian population.

The Odinsword made its debut in Journey into Mystery 117 in June 1965. The Odinsword is tremendously old and strong. It’s so old that it was forged in ways now lost. It is capable of withstanding any impact and can cut through all known materials, even freaking Celestial Armor. It can also increase it’s size along with the wielder as well as channel cosmic energies with the Odin Force being the prime force behind it. It was said that if ever released the end of the Universe is at hand. What I am saying is that it can make the Mjolnir look cute.

The Necrosword made its debut in Thor God of Thunder #2 in January 2013. It’ probably the most metal weapon on this list because it was manifested from the Shadow of the Symboite God Knull and tempered using the divine power from a fallen Celestial. The blade is made from living darkness and was wielded by Knull. It’s also known as the Godslayer. The sword is capable of many things but in the end its main purpose is killing Gods, Celestials and other cosmic entities.

4) Cosmic Cube

The Cosmic cube 1^st appeared in Tales of Suspense 79 in 1966. The Cosmic cube is made from energy from another dimension and anyone who wields that cube can use it to reshape and change reality to whatever they want. Putting it simply, if Thanos isn’t searching the Galaxy for Infinity Gauntlet, he is searching for the cosmic cube.

3) The Ultimate Nullifier

The Ultimate Nullifier

The Ultimate Nullifier 1^st appeared in Fantastic Four #50 in May 1966. The Ultimate Nullifier is a weapon that can eliminate anything from existence it’s wielder choses. It is powerful enough to destroy entire timelines. In its 1^st appearance it was used by Reed Richards to scare away Galactus from consuming Earth. Literally Galactus said, “In the name of the eternal cosmos, put it down”.

2) The Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Gauntlet 1^st appeared in Silver Surfer #44 in December 1990. Thanks to MCU, we all know that the Infinity Gauntlet is a cosmic artifact that grants the wearer complete mastery over time, space, power, soul, mind and reality. The Gauntlet also gives its wearer Omnipotence, Omniscience and omnipresence.

1) The Heart of The Universe

The Heart of The Universe

The Heart of the Universe 1^st appeared in Marvel Universe: The End #2 in May 2003. It’s virtually Omnipotent and was able to take on cosmic beings like the freaking Living Tribunal. The Heart of the Universe is an object/weapon of infinite proportions. Whoever comes in possession of it, becomes the supreme being of the Marvel Universe. That’s it, case closed. You just can’t get more powerful than that.

But the Marvel End title is not part of the main Marvel continuity, meaning the Gauntlet would be the true number one most powerful weapon as far as continuity goes.

My personal favorites are "ALL BLACK THE NECROSWORD" and "MJOLNIR".
