Who are DC's NEW GODS

Darkseid New Gods made their debut with New Gods #1 in March 1971. New Gods were created by Jack Kirby . For those of you who don't know about Jack Kirby, he co-created almost half of all mainstream comics like Thor, Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Avengers and many more.  The New Gods are a product of Kirby going to work for DC Comics in 70's. While working with DC he introduced the 4th World concept. Fourth World is essentially a Universe with eternal conflict between Good and Evil that was solely told by Jack Kirby. Fourth World is outside the conventional Multiverse with New Genesis and Apokolips being on completely opposite ends of one another in the Multiverse. Within the 4th World Universe exists the New Gods, who are a group of Ancient deities that use their powers in a never ending fight between Good and Evil. A Sorcerer School for The Marvel Universe! Yes, it's true. In the 1st issue of Strange Academy, Doctor Strange created a school for Youngsters with magical powers. The Concept of this comic is basically the X-Men , "Take a bunch of outcast kids with powers, put them in a school and have them taught with already established heroes".  Except in this case they swapped the mutants out with characters that deal with the mystic arts. So, it's quiet literally Doctor Strange's version of Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.  Summary for Strange Academy #1     (Spoilers Ahead) The issue starts off with a couple realizing that their child have magical powers.
